CRESS is a combination of taster sessions, Enter Art courses and Next Steps groups, the service allows for varying levels of engagement and supports wellbeing progression.
Taster sessions allow an introduction to Art for Wellbeing, Enter Art courses provide structured art making, a relaxing environment and social interaction, Next Steps encompasses Artful, our participant led group in Rochdale.
At Taster sessions people can drop in for a cup of tea, try out a little art-making and find out more about CRESS Courses and other creative projects going on in Rochdale.
After attending a taster session and Wellbeing Check-In, people may be invited to join an 8-week creative course at Dandelion, or offered information about other opportunities that suit their needs.
Cress taster sessions and courses are aimed at adults who feel their wellbeing would benefit from regular creative group activity. Held in an inspirational space, the small groups are led by an experienced Artist and an Emotional Support Worker.
No previous experience of art making is needed, people will be led through different, gentle and interesting techniques. Sessions aim to help people feel relaxed, make some work to take home or just enjoy experimenting with materials in the company of others.
People are welcome to stay for the whole session or just a little while. All courses are free of charge and refreshments are provided.
New for 2017, through CRESS we are trialling a Young Facilitators course which is an Enter Art/volunteering programme for young adults.
