Wendy has taught screen printing workshops for Cartwheel and is a visual artist working in print, text and textiles. She has exhibited and sold work throughout Greater Manchester. Her background as a writer, journalist and ghostwriter also inform her work. Primarily working in printmaking, Wendy’s work is graphic, spare and often uses sculptural cuts or paint to transform textiles so they resemble the concrete buildings of her home town. Drawing on a love of embroidery and minimal, stitched mark-making, she often includes written, embroidered or printed 'rants' in her work that explore middle-class snobbery and feminism. Wendy teaches various art classes including printmaking, leatherwork, modern embroidery and making art out of natural, foraged materials (like avocado or blackberry inks and witchy black pigments made from Stockport oak trees).
