Nazia Sultana

BA Hons in International Textiles & Surface design. I have been teaching art since 2003 including my latest project with Cartwheel Arts on a crafting heritage project teaching Arabic Calligraphy. I enjoy working with multi media and i use a wide variety of techniques to create my pieces and my main inspiration is Nature and my religion which I include in every piece I create.

I have always had an interest in the environment that surrounds me. "Verily God is beautiful and He loves beauty" beauty for me has always been nature. My work is an interpretation of how i perceive nature. My work represents the hidden balance of nature coupled with the idea of movement shown through varying intensities of line, scale and shape. I often include quotes from the quran in my work including key words that hold meaning to me. My aim has always been to produce work that generates a chemical reaction within the viewer creating an impact of lasting memory.
